The other day, Sunday afternoon, December 14, to be exact, I was cruising by the Redding Senior Center on Benton Drive and noticed that their very large parking lot was awash with cars, with a giant blow up of a wolf, at the entrance door, with the words Shasta Jr. Wolves inscribed on its side.  Naturally, being a curious soul, I doubled back and snagged the last parking spot (really!), jumped out, took several pics of the giant wolf, then went inside. Wow, I thought, this place is packed...

Not all of the 2,387 members of the Redding, California, Elks Lodge showed up--with children and guests in tow--to enjoy the Christmas Charity Party & Purple Pig Day, on Sunday, December 14, 2025.....but those that did were treated with Santa photos, madrigal singers, gift pick up and a (yummy!) brunch prepared—and joyously served—by cheerful members of the Redding Emblem Club #515, who assist Redding Elks Lodge #1073 in providing financial and community service to those in need.
