The Tehama County Fairgrounds was certainly an exciting—and fulfilling—place to hang out during the last five days of January 2026, as four (four!) memorable and historical events all took place at 650 Antelope Boulevard in Red Bluff, California:
#1 - The 85th annual Red Bluff Bull and Gelding Sale (RBB&GS) is a premier livestock sale that’s recognized throughout the United States of America and attracts ranchers and buyers from all over the United States of America. The RBB&G sale made national headlines with the CCR Smarty Cat selling for a record high selling price of $110,000 and featured superior ranch geldings, bulls, and working stock dogs . . . and has a long history, dating back to its inception as a Hereford Show. Consequently, the RBB&G sale has evolved into one of the largest and most prestigious livestock sales in the country, resulting in live coverage by the Cowboy Channel of the RBB&G sale and bucking battle performance.
#2 - The Red Bluff Western Art Show and Sale, now 14 years old and sponsored by the Tehama County CattleWomen under the direction of Joan Blakesly Growney, featured award-winning artists as well as a diverse collection of artwork. The Red Bluff Western Art Show and Sale drew large crowds and showcased the talents of various artists. Some notable winners include Gary Apple with his “Partners On The Plains” sculpture, Ariel Antonia with “Stay Close To Me” fine art, and David W. Schafer with “Long Horn Luminescience” photography. The Red Bluff Western Art Show and Sale is a segment of the annual Red Bluff Bull and Gelding Sale.
#3 - The Artists Reception was sponsored by the Tehama County CattleWomen, with member Tracy Bjornestad chairing the three-hour event, which featured great food by Yuri Souza and wine from Raging Bull Vineyards and Bursini Vineyards. The many dozens of artist aficionados present were also treated to craft beer from Waganupi Brewing and Chester and Ramble West Brewing Company.

#4 - The monthly Red Bluff Chamber of Commerce’s “Good Morning Red Bluff” began the third day of the Red Bluff Bull and Gelding Sale event. “It was an exciting networking opportunity, as well as some really good conversation for the over 100 businesses and nonprofits that attended,” proclaimed Red Bluff Chamber of Commerce president/CEO Dave Gowan. “And the Chamber wishes to extend a huge shout-out to Joan Growney and her CattleWomen crew for not only providing the venue, but also for the delicious morning treats,” Gowan added.

The “Good Morning Red Bluff” attendees included: 20/30 Club, Rotary, Kiwanis, Hybrid Charter School, Red Bluff Family Fitness, Upstate Hearing, Barbara’s Western Hats, Golden Valley Bank, Tehama County Employees Advisory Council, Shasta College, Red Bluff Community Hospital, Shasta College/Tehama Campus, Survivors of Domestic Violence, Michael’s Office Furnishings, Tehama County Farm Bureau, and Simpson University.
Also: Rolling Hills Casino and Resort, Calvary Chapel/Red Bluff, Growney Motors, Red Bluff Round Up, Mercy Foundation, Tidwell Roofing Company, Cobex Construction Group, Stealth Window Tint, and Miz B Photography.
