Empty Bowls 2026 Fundraiser for the Good News Rescue Mission

SOUP…..SOUP….. SOUP!

PEOPLE…PEOPLE…PEOPLE!

MEANS NO EMPTY BOWLS!

Shasta County-ians are known to have a generous bent, and it was really evident on March 30, 2026, when hundreds of them gathered at the Redding Elks Lodge to pay $25 each for a small, ceramic “bowl-of-soup,” with all proceeds benefitting the food program at the Good News s Rescue Mission (GNRM).

“I had so much fun at the Empty Bowls 2026 fundraiser for the Good News Rescue Mission, plus the soup was amazing, and the focaccia bread, baked by the Pioneer High School students, was a perfect complement.  And let’s give a loud shout out to the kids at the Redding School of the Arts (RSA) for the yummy cookies,” exclaimed GNRM Director of Development, Justin Wandro. “And the handmade ceramic bowls, thanks to Diana Gomez and Michael Perkins, who provided them, were amazing,” Wandro concluded.

And stepping up to make Empty Bowls a reality, the Good News Rescue Mission solicited sponsors, who came through with flying colors:  Shasta College, Shasta Charter Academy, Shasta High School, Foothill High School, Lalibela Ethiopian Cuisine, Mosaic Restaurant, Artistic Endeavors, Licata Catering, La Joie Bakery, Natalie Stolzheise Pottery, Odell Craft Barbeque, and MC Catering.
