The Tribal Employment Rights Office (TERO), an arm of the Pit River Tribe, is partnering with the SMART Work Force Center, to host a “Work Force Development Day,” on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, from 11 to 3, inside the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) hall, located at 37392 Main Street, Burney, Ca., 96013.
According to Renee Gemmill and Josiah Jacobs, TERO representatives, the “Workforce Development Day” will focus on connecting tribal and community members with employers, training programs, and workforce resources.
Additionally, Gemmill and Jacobs point out, “Workforce Development Day” offers the unemployed—or underemployed—the opportunity to connect with employers, unions, and training providers, including the exploration of apprenticeship and certification programs.
The Pit River Tribe is a federally recognized tribe of nearly 4,000 members, with ancestral homelands spanning several North State counties, including Shasta, Siskiyou, Modoc, and Lassen.
