Save Our Small Town Workshop Meeting

The Burney Chamber of Commerce has partnered with the Shasta Economic Corporation (EDC), intermountain community members and business owners, according to Jen Luck, the Chamber’s Office Manager.

These three entities, Luck explains, will join forces to host a SAVE OUR SMALL TOWN WORKSHOP (SOSTW), to initiate positive action for the community, on Wednesday,

January 19, 2026, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Tri County Community Network (TCCN) meeting room.  Luck encourages those that want to attend, are invested in Burney’s success and want to be a part of the solution to call the Chamber office…….530-335-2111.

In other news, a (second) Bi Monthly Town Hall will be held in February. The first Bi Monthly Town Hall was held on December 4th at the Burney Lions Hall, with Shasta County Supervisor, Corkey Harmon, attending, along with six county representatives, including Hope Seth and Leslie Sawyer.  At that meeting, several key issues were discussed, such as public safety, housing supply, jobs/economic growth, and transparency/communications between the county and Burney, plus mental health services and election integrity.

Luck also announced that Trevor Montgomery and Jessica Reynolds, of Handicapable Adventures and Tri Counties Bank, respectively, will serve another year as Burney Chamber of Commerce board members and that Kim Songer, of Coldwell Banker Intermountain Realty, and Pamela Grant, of Red Truck Pizza, are new board members.

Offering information on activities, such as fishing and camping in Burney, where to dine and where to stay, plus shopping tips, the Burney Chamber of Commerce has been doing exactly that since 1944, the year it was formed.  Thusly, such large—and important—endeavors require sound leadership, such as Angelina Darker, president, Lois White, vice president, Kim Beach, treasurer and Carlene Brown, secretary.
