Meet the adorable six puppies from Princess's litter now available for adoption at the City of Shasta Lake Animal Shelter!
These six fluffy bundles of joy are part of a litter of nine born to the incredible mama dog Princess, who gave birth right at the shelter. Volunteer Cheri was there for every single birth and has been their devoted "second mama" ever since—providing round-the-clock care, love, and guidance as they've grown into energetic, unique little characters.
Princess, a resilient girl, initially welcomed 10 puppies, though the litter faced some heartbreaking challenges early on. These pups are a charming mix of German Shepherd, Husky, Pit Bull, and Lab—creating a one-of-a-kind blend in every single one. No two look alike! From fluffy coats to striking markings and playful personalities, each puppy brings something special to the table.

The Details:
Age/Status: Young puppies (recently altered/neutered or spayed), microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations (two rounds of parvo shots completed; third due in about two weeks).
Health & Care: Fully vetted and ready to go home! They are not potty trained yet—that's a fun adventure for their new family (Cheri is happy to share training tips!).
Adoption Notes: The shelter strongly recommends adopting one puppy per family to avoid littermate syndrome. While these siblings love playing together in the yard, they also tussle and require constant supervision and behavior correction. Puppies are a lifetime commitment—they'll grow into large, active, loving adult dogs who need training, exercise, and plenty of attention.
Meet-and-Greet Requirement: If you already have a dog at home, a required meet-and-greet will ensure everyone gets along.
These pups are full of energy, cuddles, and endless potential. They'll melt your heart as babies and grow into loyal, fun companions as adults. Princess was an amazing mama, and thanks to the shelter's care (and soon her own spay appointment), she'll never have to worry about another litter.
The remaining three puppies from the litter will be posted soon once their appointments are complete—so stay tuned!
