Pet of the Week: TOBO – The Big, Lovable Chocolate Lab!

Say hello to TOBO, this week's irresistible featured pet from CATZ and DOGZ of The North State Inc in Cottonwood, CA! This handsome 2-year-old Pedigree Chocolate Labrador Retriever is a large, well-behaved hunk of pure love with a rich brown coat, soulful eyes, and an endlessly eager-to-please personality.

TOBO is playful, curious, affectionate, funny, and smart — the quintessential Lab who thrives on attention and activity. He's been receiving daily dedicated training since arriving at his foster home, and he's come so far! He learned to use the dog door right away (despite never living indoors before), is house-trained, and

walks beautifully on a leash, healing nicely. He's mastered sit/stay commands, including patiently waiting for his food bowl until released to eat. TOBO gets along wonderfully with other dogs and would absolutely adore a home with a large piece of property where he can run and play with a canine buddy his own size.

His story tugs at the heart: His original owner paid a big fee for his impressive pedigree paperwork but didn't provide the attention or training this energetic boy needed. TOBO has bounced back quickly, showing his resilient, sweet nature.

Daily walks or runs are a must to channel his puppy-like energy — once he's had his exercise, he learns faster, minds better, and is an even more wonderful companion. He's been corrected for lunging at cats on walks, so a cat-free home or very careful introductions would be best. With his trainability and gentle temperament, TOBO has excellent potential to become a Service Dog for the right dedicated handler.

Fully vetted and ready to go: neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, microchipped, on Heartgard, and he comes with his pedigree paperwork, plus a new harness and leash. As a special bonus from the rescue, adopters receive 3 months of grooming courtesy of Pam Blackwell at Puppy Love Grooming!
