Pet of the Week: Meet Winnie! This sweet, energetic girl is ready to find her forever family

Winnie is an adorable 6-month-old retriever mix who arrived at the shelter as a stray through no fault of her own. She’s a happy, playful puppy who’s already showing off some great manners!
What Winnie loves:
Playing fetch and tug-of-war
Splashing around in the pool (she’s a water lover!)
Sitting beautifully on command
Earning treats (she’s very food-motivated!)
Alerting her people when someone new approaches the fence
Winnie does well with other dogs, but the shelter requires a meet-and-greet to ensure she’s a good match for any dogs already in your home. Her behavior with cats is unknown, but as a young puppy, she can be trained to live happily with them. She would do best with respectful children who know how to interact gently with dogs.
This fun-loving, smart, and affectionate girl is waiting for a patient family who will give her the training, exercise, and love she deserves.
