The vast and expansive Redding Elks Lodge parking lot was filled to the brim with classic cars, trucks and motorcycles as the 3rd annual NorCal Think Pink Car show got underway on Sunday, October 12, with the vast majority of the proceeds going to a cancer research fund. Participating in a live stream video with Redding Elks past Exalted Ruler, Sue Reed, the NorCal Think Pink car show chairman, Greg Rathbun, exclaimed “It is so immensely gratifying to see so many people come out in support of breast cancer survivors,” adding that those who wish to make donations could visit: norcalthinkpink.org.

Besides the numerous (food!) booths that lined the car show’s oval boundaries, car show lookers and goers could listen to music from KShasta radio’s pop up, as well as look over various car-related products available for sale. And to cap off a very successful car show, which exceeded last year’s numbers, the following car show entrants received awards: For Best of Show, the winner was Teresa Bryan with her 1956 Chevy Corvette, while Dave and Caroline Stanger walked away with the Best Classic Car award with their 1971 Pontiac GTO.

Continuing the awards, Angie and Debbie Caudill took Classic Truck honors with their 1951 GMC. Not to be denied was Jesse Brewen, who captured the Best Rat Rod designation with his 1934 Ford. So who won the award for Best Motorcycle? Why it was Linda Rathbun, of course, with her 1971 Piagio Ape. And who won honors for Best Think Pink Vehicle Theme?….his name is Mike Wilson, the owner of a 1972 Buick. And who won for Best Foreign Vehicle?….Pa Sambath with her 1971 Porsche. For Best Paint Job?……Kathy Schnetzger: 1928 Chevy Sedan. See’ya next year!
