“We are so proud to be a part of this historical endeavor to recognize—indeed celebrate—the supreme sacrifices and accomplishments that our Veterans have made,” exclaimed Darlene Brown in announcing that there will be a Veterans display, during the months of November and December, 2025, at the Boomtown Museum, 1525 Median Ave., City of Shasta Lake, California.
Brown, the secretary and president emeritus of the Boomtown Museum/Shasta Lake Historical Society, said that several of the Veterans display items are donated by John Duckett, a former City Manager for the City of Shasta Lake and a noted World War II buff, whose vast collection includes a World War II jeep. Visitors can also view photographs of local Veterans, including those of Richard “Dick” Wilkinson, Frank Rose, Pete Droesch and Bill Brown. In addition, Wilkinson and Rose have donated a collection of flags and plaques.
