2025 Shasta County Christmas Lights Winners Are Here – Grab the Family and Go!

The results are in! The Shasta Association of Realtors has announced the winners of the 2025 Home Decorating Contest, and the Contemporary / Lights Synchronized to Music category is absolutely stacked this year. If you love over-the-top, radio-tuned, dancing light shows that make you feel like you’re inside a Hallmark movie on steroids, these are the three displays you cannot miss.


Nightly shows typically run from 5:00 pm - 10:00 pm (hours may vary—check the Redding Lights page for updates).


Top 3 Musical Light Shows of 2025


1st Place: Merrywood Lights

3991 Merrywood Drive, Cottonwood

This champion display has added a brand-new song this year from K-Pop Demon Hunters—expect epic synchronization and fresh energy!

 2nd Place: Redding Lights

The hometown heroes—the Van Gent family—continue to dazzle. Fun fact: They won ABC’s The Great Christmas Light Fight back on December 5, 2016!

Over 10,000 pixels synchronized to joyful music—leaping arches, dancing outlines, and pure holiday magic!

The Redding Lights Facebook page reports that 2025 has the highest number of synchronized shows they’ve ever tracked. While only three homes take the podium, plenty of other entries feature music and moving lights worth the drive.

Pro Tips for Your Light-Hunting Adventure


  • Weeknights are best if you hate traffic (most shows start around 5:30–6:00 p.m.).

  • Weekends get busy—leave a little earlier and consider carpooling.

  • Bring blankets, hot cocoa, and turn the Christmas music up loud between houses.

  • Most displays run through at least New Year’s Day (many until early January).
