VITTLES FAMILY RESTAURANT – It's Always Good – Especially Breakfast

With a hankering for that “Good Ole American Breakfast", maybe the kind that would bring a smile to the face of any hard-working lumberjack, my husband and I jumped on the I-5 freeway in Redding and headed south from our home near downtown Redding.

Our destination was the VITTLES FAMILY RESTAURANT located in Anderson, CA, at

2385 North Street, just off I-5.

We had read that a previous reviewer had remarked that Vittles Family Restaurant was “always good….especially breakfast.” It’s open daily from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., and we got there a little before noon.

The building is very large and beautiful, looking like a mansion you would find in a

wealthy neighborhood in the South. The restaurant is easy to find, with a large sign out front and plenty of parking, both covered and uncovered. The interior of the restaurant can accommodate big crowds and is reminiscent of an earlier day.

Two waitresses, Lydia and Cammy, greeted us and seated us in a booth. Coffee was served within seconds, and the cups were never empty during our visit. The menu made the venue a tad different from other restaurants. Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner are offered, but somehow in a different way that sets it apart from other eateries. We both chose breakfast – pancakes for Jerry, and I chose a Belgian waffle. Check out the photos of the plates! The menu itself sets Vittles apart. To name a few…

1) The breakfast special was a 6-oz Pork Loin and eggs

2) Prime Rib and eggs with a choice of potato, horseradish, and toast

3) Chicken Fried Steak and eggs, topped with ¼ pound of country gravy

All include two eggs and a choice of Hash Browns or Country Fried Potatoes, and a choice of toast.

The restaurant itself was inviting and comfortable, much like what you would expect to find in the southern states. There was plenty of room for hosting large events like weddings, birthday parties, or even graduation parties! Staff were cordial, helpful, and

accommodating.

You won’t leave hungry! Breakfast is always an option, no matter the time. And, there is a lovely private banquet room, perfect for your next party or business meeting.

In short, a great place to go morning, noon, or night. You will not leave disappointed.
