Shasta County voters participated in the Statewide Direct Primary Election and a special primary for Congressional District 1 on Tuesday, June 2.
These remain preliminary results. The June 5 evening update added more ballots. Estimated ballots still to be processed: ~21,500. Official certification is expected in early July. All figures are unofficial and subject to change.

Summary
Shasta County continues to show a strong conservative lean, with Republican candidates dominating statewide and federal races and outperforming statewide averages in most contests. Joanna Francescut has a commanding lead for Clerk, Erin Resner leads in District 1, Mike Gallagher leads narrowly in District 5 (runoff likely), and Measure B is passing narrowly. James Gallagher won the CD1 special election decisively.
Statewide, Xavier Becerra and Steve Hilton are the projected top two for Governor, while Democratic incumbents are advancing comfortably in Attorney General and Controller races.
The next Shasta update is expected by 6:30 PM today (Saturday, June 6).
