Shasta County voters participated in the Statewide Direct Primary Election and a special primary for Congressional District 1 on Tuesday, June 2.


These are preliminary, unofficial results. Shasta County has processed 55,298 ballots out of 116,380 registered voters (47.52% turnout). There are approximately 97 ballots that remain to be counted. Statewide results are based on approximately 94% of votes counted (per CalMatters/AP estimates as of June 11). Final certification is due by July 10.

  • Kevin Crye (incumbent): 38.36% (3,482 votes)

  • Richard Gallardo: 7.27% (660 votes)

Summary

Shasta County continues to deliver strong conservative results. Joanna Francescut maintains a solid lead for Clerk. Erin Resner holds a comfortable advantage in District 1. Mike Gallagher keeps a narrow edge in District 5 (likely November runoff). Measure B remains comfortably ahead. James Gallagher won the CD1 special election decisively, and Heather Hadwick leads strongly in Assembly District 1.


Statewide, Xavier Becerra leads the Governor’s race with Steve Hilton in second and advancing. Top-two races for Governor, Attorney General, Controller, and others are solidifying. Republican candidates in Shasta County continue to significantly outperform statewide averages.
