Shasta Lake, CA — Disc golf fans, get ready to tee off! The City of Shasta Lake has officially opened its brand-new public disc golf course behind the ballfields at Bizz Johnson Park.
The 19-hole, par-60 PDGA-style layout was designed by professional course designer Leonard Muise. Expect dramatic elevation changes, technical wooded fairways, dual tee pads (short and long), and stunning panoramic views of Shasta Lake and the surrounding mountains. Funded by American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) dollars and supported by Flightpath Disc Golf, the course is built to be challenging for experts while remaining fun and accessible for families and beginners alike.

To celebrate the grand opening, the City is running a community naming contest. Residents are invited to submit name ideas that capture the course’s scenic beauty, local history, and NorCal spirit. Submissions will be reviewed under the City’s Parks & Recreation Facility Naming Policy.
How to Enter the Naming Contest: Head straight to the City of Shasta Lake’s official Facebook page (@CityShastaLake) and look for the recent post announcing the course opening. Submit your suggestions via the comments, form link, or instructions in that post.

Full guidelines, eligibility, and the exact deadline are listed there — don’t miss it!
