Pet of the Week: Meet Bailey – The Ultimate Love Bug Waiting for His Furever Home!

Located in Cottonwood, CA, Catz and Dogz of The North State brings you this week's shining star: sweet Bailey! ❤️


Three years ago, in a heartbreaking scene outside Walmart, a couple of homeless folks sat in the freezing cold with a cardboard sign that read "make us an offer," holding up shivering puppies from a tote. One compassionate rescuer flipped the car around, offered $50, and took all four remaining pups (one had just been given away). That day, Bailey and his littermates came home to safety—and Bailey is the last of that brave little group still looking for his perfect forever family.


Born around June 4, 2023, this creamy-beige charmer (named after Bailey's Irish Cream for his gorgeous light color!) is believed to be a Jack Russell Terrier / Chihuahua mix. At just 13 pounds, he's compact, portable, and oh-so-snuggly. Bailey sports a distinctive white stripe between his eyes, a white-tipped tail, and a white patch between his shoulders. His favorite toy? His little stuffed dog—he carries it everywhere like a best buddy!


What makes Bailey extra special?

- Total love bug: He lives for lap time, cuddling next to you in a big chair, or following you around the yard as your loyal little helper.

- Perfectly behaved: Fully house trained, crate trained, and gets along beautifully with other dogs in the rescue and even the kitties!

- Ready for life: Up to date on vaccines, on heartworm prevention (Heart Guard), neutered, microchipped, and comes with a new harness & leash.

Adoption fee for dogs is $500, which covers spay/neuter (often $300–$400 value), multiple vaccines, microchipping, heartworm prevention, and more—everything is handled for you so you can focus on the love!
