After a long and emotional NICU journey, Lorenzo Leone Pasini was discharged and welcomed home by his loving parents, Jessi and Alessio.

In their heartfelt new YouTube video “Welcome Home, Lorenzo,” the family captured the joyful moment of the final car seat test — the “click” that meant freedom — and the emotional walk out of the hospital on May 1st. Alessio and Jessi described it as the end of an incredible chapter, with tears flowing as they realized they were finally leaving the NICU behind after months of daily visits.

The first night at home was a mix of pure bliss and new-parent reality. Lorenzo wasn’t following his old NICU schedule and wanted to eat every 1.5 hours instead of every 3. Jessi and Alessio took turns staying up with him, with Jessi handling much of the night while Alessio got a bit of rest. “We’re just so grateful,” they shared, calling it surreal to have him finally home in their own environment.

The family cat, Miscia, is adjusting well. She initially seemed a bit distracted and nervous with the new smells and activity, but is doing fine overall.

Born at just 26 weeks and 5 days on February 5, 2026, weighing only 2 pounds 2 ounces, Lorenzo has been a true fighter — tripling his birth weight to 6 lbs. 10 ounces in 85 days, overcoming respiratory challenges, and hitting milestones faster than expected. His parents credit the incredible NICU team, the power of prayer, and the support from their community for helping them reach this day.

The Pasinis expressed deep gratitude to everyone who has followed and prayed for their journey. “It’s a new life, a new adventure,” they said. Over a million people on YouTube and Facebook are following their long, emotional journey.

Congratulations to the Pasini family! We’re so happy for you all. Welcome home, little Lorenzo!
