In case you have a question about the legality of Measure B

Now I hear that there are a more than a few folks in Shasta County who want to vote on a bill to make our elections more secure. They want Shasta County to adopt things like hand counted ballots and voter ID. Can you believe it?
Now I’m not sure why anybody would get hot-under-the-collar about making elections more secure. Seems like a good thing to me. But some, including one of our county supervisors, have said that they shouldn’t do it because they’re breaking the law.
A lot of these folks are always claiming that anything they don’t like is “unconstitutional”. So, I figured that the California Constitution would be a good place to start. Now I ain’t no legal expert, so I asked my nephew how to figure this out and he said there’s this thing called artificial intelligence. Sounds a bit strange, but anyway, I tried it. Guess what, it affirms that all political power is inherent in the people, and that they have the right to redress and reform their government!
Here’s more. It said that “government is instituted for their protection, security, and benefit, with the people having the right to alter or reform it when the public good may require. This principle is enshrined in Article II, Section 1 of the current California Constitution, which explicitly states the people's right to alter or reform their government.” And I’m thinking that I’ve heard there are similar sentiments in the U.S. Constitution as well.
Go figure! If we have the right to redress and reform our government, shouldn’t our elected county representatives be the ones who are supporting that right? Where else would we go? We shouldn’t have to go to Sacramento ourselves. We elected these folks to represent us to the state. Now, I’m no genius, but I think they should be willing to listen to the people and not be caterwauling about doing their jobs. What do you think?
