Doggie Dash 5K Run And Community Fair: A Big Fundraiser For Haven Humane Society Animals

It was time for dog lovers to grab their beloved canines, leash ‘em up, strap on those running shoes, (don’t forget the H2O!) ..and head on out to Lake Redding Park for the Doggie Dash 5K run/race and Community Fair, held on Saturday, March 28, 2026, and organized by the Haven Humane Society, with all proceeds going to the Society’s animals.

The fundraising event was a full four hours of fun and frolic, with the Community Fair running from 9 to 1. The 5K run/race kicked off at 10 at the park’s Gazebo and Pavilion, then proceeded to the Sundial Bridge, then returned to the park’s Gazebo and Pavilion area to complete the three (3) miles.

The Community Fair portion of the fund-raising event featured a doggie costume contest, bandana decorating and local vendors, including Everything 3D; WhiskeyTown NRA; Nor Cal Pet Services; Treats Natural Marketplace; Flexic Paints; Shingletown Animal Clinic; Face Painting; Turtle Bay Exploration Park; Wagner Electric, Stifel; Raising Caine’s; Doggie Scoopers; Shingletown Small Animal Clinic; Redding Rancheria; Valor Oncology;  Essence of California;  Shasta Trail Blazers and Nancy’s Pet Peeves.

Other vendors included Small Animal Clinic; Essence of California; Nichols, Melburg and Rosetta, Zufall Dentistry; UPS Store @ Churn Creek; Shasta Community Health Center; Plantables; Redding Heating and Air; Beads For Heaven; Simple Tracks Pet Care, Haven Humane Store; Pace Supply; Grange Co Op; Murphy Plumbing and Fire; Red Tail Pet Photography.

Haven Humane Society offers cat, dog, and small-animal adoption services. The Haven Humane Adoption Center is at 7449 Eastside Road in Anderson, 96007, with hours of operation being Monday through Saturday, 11-5. Community support services include a pet food pantry for those in need, dog training resources, and referrals. The Haven Humane Society supports community outreach and education initiatives.
