Charity Car Show Raises Thousands of Dollars For Local Charities
The Mountain Lakes Center at 4300 Caterpillar Road in Redding, California, was the perfect venue for the 1st-annual Charity Car Show, the brainchild of the Shasta County Sheriff’s Association, held on Saturday morning, August 8, 2026.
Besides the obviously beautiful, virtually perfect array of cars (most of ‘em classic), trucks, muscle cars and motorcycles, the Charity Car Show featured some great prizes, awards for top categories, raffles and a 50/50 drawing.
The first-annual event was hosted by the Shasta County Deputy Sheriff’s Association (DSA) and Shield Training Center, benefitting the Shasta County DSA Charity Fund. According to the Shasta County DSA’s Facebook page, the DSA’s Charity Fund supports local community causes.
The sponsors for the 2026 Shasta County DSA Charity Car Show were: Home Depot, Dutch Bros Coffee, Plumas Bank, Turtle Bay Exploration Park, Moules Glass, R&R Meats, Redding Guns, Redding Agra Golf, The Cross Family, Bright’s Engraving and Trophy, Trinity Touring Club, Created By Parker, The Shield Regional Training, and Justin Cuz Marketplace.
According to the Shasta County Deputy Sheriff’s Association Facebook page, the Charity Car Show brought in $2,595, with proceeds going back to local organizations and youth sports teams in the Shasta County Community.
A highlight of the event was a 1969 “Autism Awareness” Chevelle festooned with puzzle pieces, with every puzzle piece on the car representing the name of a child with autism.
