Mission Possible: Uniting a Nation the Nonviolent Way— Annual MLK Celebration in Redding on Monday, January 19th

On Monday, January 19, 2026, the annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration takes place from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Sequoia Middle School Performing Arts Center, 1805 Sequoia Street, Redding, CA. The event is rain or shine.
Theme: "Mission Possible: Building Community, Uniting a Nation the Nonviolent Way."
Key Events:
- Starts with a Prayer Circle and March at 10 a.m. from the Shasta County Superior Courthouse (1500 Court Street).
- Mini March option from First United Methodist Church (1825 East Street) at 10:35 a.m. to join the main march.
- At the school: Information tables, Bell Ringing Ceremony (10:45 a.m.), MLK Celebration Program (11:30 a.m.), and provided lunch (12:30–2 p.m.).
It's a community-focused observance to honor Dr. King's life, legacy, and impact through reflection, unity, and nonviolent action. Organized by the Dr. MLK Jr. Center, Redding Recreation, City of Redding, and partners.
