Shasta County voters participated in the Statewide Direct Primary Election and a special primary for Congressional District 1 on Tuesday, June 2.


No Change in the Relative Position of any Candidates in this Update

These are preliminary, unofficial results. Shasta County has processed nearly all ballots (54,171 ballots cast out of 116,380 registered voters — 46.55% turnout). The estimated number of ballots that remain to be counted ~1600. Statewide results are based on approximately 91% of votes counted (per CalMatters/AP estimates as of June 9). Final certification is due by July 10.

Summary

Shasta County continues to deliver strong conservative results. Joanna Francescut holds a solid lead for Clerk. Erin Resner leads comfortably in District 1. Mike Gallagher maintains a narrow edge in District 5 (likely November runoff). Measure B is passing.


James Gallagher won the CD1 special election decisively.


Statewide, Xavier Becerra leads the Governor’s race with Steve Hilton in second. Top-two races for Governor, Attorney General, Controller, and others are advancing as shown. Republican candidates significantly outperformed statewide averages in Shasta County across the board.
