It was a tense night as the Los Angeles Dodgers were trailing the Toronto Blue Jays for most of the game, but in the ninth inning, a solo home run by Miguel Rojas tied up the game 4-4. The final win came in the 11th inning, 5-4. There was no doubt who the Willie Mays World Series Most Valuable Player Award would go to as the young Japanese pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto was instrumental in three of the Dodger's wins during the series, On the award stage, manager Dave Roberts called Yamamoto the GOAT (Greatest of All Time). Yamato pitched a complete game four-hitter in the Dodgers' Game 2 win (the first World Series complete game since 2015), started and pitched for six innings in game 6, and ended Game 7 with three scoreless innings making him the 14th pitcher to win three games in a single World Series. AP News reported that catcher Will Smith, who hit the Dodgers' tie-breaking homer in the 11th inning, speaking about Yamamoto said, "That was incredible." Roberts summed up the amazing performances by his team by saying "We gave everyone a show. Baseball is the best game ever invented! I trust every single one of these guys!" The Dodgers championship parade is Monday in downtown L.A. starting at 10 a.m. according to ABC7 News.
