Tehama County Manhunt: Armed and Dangerous Murder Suspect Rafael “Sicko” Ruvalcaba Still at Large

Corning/Red Bluff, Tehama County, CA

Tehama County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit continues its active search for 36-year-old Rafael Ruvalcaba, also known as “Sicko,” who is wanted for murder in connection with a shooting in Corning on April 9, 2026. Authorities describe him as armed and dangerous with a history of violence. He has not been apprehended, and no new leads have been publicly released as of this morning.


The homicide occurred around 12:30 p.m. on April 9 at the Salado Orchard Apartments (Toomes Avenue) in Corning. Deputies responded to reports of a shooting and located the victim, 30-year-old Michael Rodriguez (also identified as Michael Rangel Rodriguez) of Orland in Glenn County, who had suffered a gunshot wound to the upper torso. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators have described the incident as drug-related, not gang-related.

Ruvalcaba is described as a Hispanic male, approximately 5’3” to 5’4” tall, weighing about 145 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He should be considered armed and dangerous—do not approach.
