With Easter Sunday tomorrow (April 5), our North State communities are coming together for egg hunts, brunches, sunrise services, and moments of renewal and grace. Here’s a partial roundup of public events happening this weekend—perfect for families, neighbors, and anyone seeking fresh hope in the season.
Shasta County (Redding, Anderson, Shasta Lake area)
Today (Saturday, April 4): Free Easter Egg Hunt at Gaia Hotel & Spa in Anderson (4125 Riverside Place). Booths opened at 11 a.m., main egg hunts kicked off at noon, and activities run until about 2 p.m. A festive, family-friendly day with beautiful grounds.
Today (Saturday, April 4): 2nd Annual Enterprise Jr. Hornets Easter Egg Hunt at Enterprise Park, Redding – 3 p.m. start. Other local hunts are also happening today in places like Lakehead (Lions Club at Lakeshore Resort, 9 a.m.) and Cottonwood (Community Center, 11 a.m.–1 p.m.).
Tomorrow (Sunday, April 5): 57th Annual Shasta Lake Easter Egg Hunt at Clair Engle Park, Shasta Lake – 9 a.m. sharp, followed by a pancake breakfast at Lions Hall.
Tomorrow (Sunday, April 5): Non-denominational Easter Sunrise Service at Shasta Dam Visitor Center (6:30 a.m.), presented by the Kiwanis Club of Shasta Dam. A beautiful, reflective start to the day overlooking the dam.
The Redding Spring Carnival is also rolling through April 3–12 at the Mt. Shasta Mall area (900 Dana Drive) with rides and Easter-season fun.
Tehama County (Red Bluff / Corning area)
Public egg hunts wrapped up earlier this spring (Kiwanis hunt was March 28 in Red Bluff), but the spirit of Easter is alive in local churches. Expect special services tomorrow at places like Sacred Heart Catholic Church and others across the county. Check individual church websites or the Red Bluff-Tehama County Chamber calendar for exact times—many will offer sunrise or morning worship focused on renewal and grace.
Siskiyou County (Mt. Shasta, McCloud, Weed area)
Today (Saturday, April 4): 54th Annual Mt. Shasta Elks / City Park Easter Egg Hunt at Mt. Shasta City Park (1315 Nixon Road), 10 a.m. Age-grouped hunts for little ones through age 10.
Today (Saturday, April 4): Weed Easter Egg Hunt at California Park, 11 a.m.–1 p.m. (includes bunny photos, face painting, bounce house).
Tomorrow (Sunday, April 5): Easter Brunch at McCloud Hotel – Sage Restaurant, 9 a.m.–1 p.m. A lovely way to celebrate with a meal and mountain views.
Tomorrow (Sunday, April 5): Easter services at The Gathering in Mt. Shasta (9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m.), plus many other churches throughout the county offering special worship.
These events reflect the heart of our region—families gathering, kids laughing, and communities pausing to remember grace and new beginnings. Whether you’re hunting eggs, watching the sunrise over Shasta Dam, or sharing a brunch table, there’s plenty of room for renewal right here at home.
Have a blessed Easter! Check local Facebook groups, chamber sites, or city pages for any last-minute updates, and drive safely.
