Cottonwood Hot Rods and Hogs Car Show
Historic Front Street in Cottonwood, California, a town founded in 1852 as a creek-side store and ferry crossing for early-day miners, was packed to the proverbial brim on a picturesque day, 9-12-‘26 to be exact, when the Cottonwood Chamber of Commerce organized the 22nd-annual Hot Rods & Hogs Car Show, which, by the way, featured a lot more than just beautiful machines.
For starters, besides the many, many families with kids (and dogs!) in tow, there was great music provided by the Red Mountain Rock Band, a poker walk, plenty of vendors from Shasta and Tehama counties, great food, giveaways throughout the day and, most of all, plenty of classic cars, trucks and motorcycles lining Front Street, even spilling out in front of the Cottonwood Fire Department and Holiday Market.
Daniel (Dan) Canavan, the owner of Hardline Trucking LLC who also serves as the president of the Cottonwood Chamber of Commerce, had this to say:
“This year’s 22nd Annual Hot Rods & Hogs Car Show was our biggest yet, featuring more than 225 entries, a wide range of vendors from throughout Shasta and Tehama counties, plus products from local businesses.”
Canavan continues: “As President of the Cottonwood Chamber of Commerce, I sincerely thank our new and longtime sponsors for supporting this event and our community. I also want to thank—and recognize—the many volunteers who work behind the scenes, throughout the year, and dedicate themselves to every event we organize.”
Canavan has more: “Although our volunteer list is very long, special thanks go to Jennie Freret, Richard Ashes, and Wendy Kamisky. Their commitment to our community embodies the spirit behind our success. I would especially like to recognize the Chamber’s Vice President and event coordinator, Ashley Angelucci. As the driving force behind Hot Rods and Hogs, Ashley has devoted countless hours, over the past six years, to making the event successful and helping it grow.”
Canavan concludes: “Once again, thank you to all our supporters and volunteers. We are always glad to welcome new faces.
