Community Car Show Raises Funds for Local Breast Cancer Support

The 4th Annual Car Show took place on October 11, 2026, at the Redding Elks Lodge, drawing car enthusiasts and supporters of breast cancer awareness. The free event featured a wide array of classic, custom, and exotic vehicles, along with health information booths, food trucks, and craft vendors.

The car show will split all proceeds evenly, with 50% going to Nor-Cal Breast Cancer Connection and 50% to the Breast Cancer Detection Fund. The fund helps cover the cost of screening and diagnostic services—such as mammograms, ultrasounds, biopsies, and MRIs—for uninsured or underinsured individuals in the region for whom cost would otherwise be a barrier.

Nor-Cal Breast Cancer Connection, established in 1996, works to boost breast cancer awareness and promote early detection across Northern California counties including Shasta, Siskiyou, Modoc, Plumas, Tehama, and Trinity. In 2023, the organization assumed responsibility for the Breast Cancer Detection Fund, which Soroptimist International of Redding originally established. The fund has long helped residents without adequate insurance for necessary testing, and Nor-Cal Breast Cancer Connection continues to offer it through a streamlined online application process while keeping all assistance local.

Organizers emphasized the importance of early detection, noting that cost should never prevent someone from receiving timely diagnostic care. Photos from the day’s displays and activities accompany this report.
