National Guard Shooting in Washington D.C. - On November 27, 2025, a tragic ambush near the White House left two National Guard members wounded, with 20-year-old Sarah Beckstrom succumbing to her injuries the following day.  The suspect, 29-year-old Afghan national Rahmanullah Lakanwal, who had entered the U.S. via Operation Allies Welcome in 2021 and was granted asylum earlier that year, used a .357 Smith & Wesson revolver in the attack, prompting a murder charge from U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro. UC Berkeley Campus Safety Review - The U.S. Department of Education announced a formal investigation of UC Berkeley on November 25, 2025, to see whether Berkeley violated the Clery Act, which requires institutions of high education to meet certain safety requirements to receive federal aid. This announcement follows violent protests that occurred at a November 10th Turning Point USA event where counter-demonstrators clashed with people attending the event and police. At least one person was injured after being struck in the head by a thrown object and several people were arrested. The Executive Producer of the “The Charlie Kirk Show”, Andrew Kolvet, said the “JIHAD” and “ANTIFA” attack at UC Berkeley was a “coordinated attack”.  Also, there were thousands of people who wanted to attend the event that were turned away or intimidated by agitators.  Turning Point USA, a nonprofit that promotes conservative values on high school and college campuses, has received newfound attention following the assassination of its founder Charlie Kirk.  The Department of Education’s document request encompasses records going back to 2022, suggesting federal investigators are examining not just the November 10 incident, but systemic compliance issues.  UC Berkeley has a history of violating the Clery Act.  In 2020, UC Berkeley was fined $2.4 million under a settlement agreement for the misclassification of 1,125 crimes and insufficient public crime logs.  – universityherald.com; goldrushcam.com; X Post of Jesse Watters
