Another Example of Liberals Having to Cheat to Win

REDDING, Calif. — In a brazen act of political vandalism that reeks of desperation, someone has launched a targeted campaign of theft against yard signs supporting Clint Curtis for Shasta County Clerk in District 2.

All along the roadways in District 2, Clint Curtis signs are disappearing overnight. Local supporters report that the thefts are not random — they are systematic, hitting high-visibility spots where voters driving by would see them every day.

One resident living off Swasey Drive near Placer Road knows this firsthand. “I had three of my Clint Curtis signs stolen right from my own property,” the homeowner said. “As I drive all along Swasey Dr. and Placer, I see that other Clint Curtis signs have been stolen as well. Empty stakes are everywhere. It’s obvious what’s happening.”

Curtis, the incumbent County Clerk and Registrar of Voters who has made national headlines for pushing transparency, live ballot reconciliation, and full video recording of the election process, is facing re-election in 2026. His platform is simple: fair elections citizens can trust — “Don’t trust us — see for yourself.”

But apparently, some opponents don’t want voters to see the signs — or the message.

This isn’t the first time conservatives in Shasta County have watched their campaign materials vanish. Sign theft has become a disturbingly common tactic on the left when they sense they’re losing ground. Instead of making their case to voters, certain liberals resort to silencing the competition the old-fashioned way: by stealing the competition’s signs under cover of darkness.

California law is clear — stealing or defacing political signs is a misdemeanor punishable by fines and even jail time. Yet enforcement is often lax, and perpetrators know it. They count on the fact that most victims won’t spend the time and money to pursue charges over a $20 yard sign.

The message this sends is unmistakable: “We can’t beat Curtis on the merits, so we’ll just make sure you don’t see his name.”

Shasta County voters deserve better. They deserve to see every candidate’s message without interference. They deserve elections where the only competition is ideas — not midnight raids on private property.

If you’re driving through District 2 and notice missing Clint Curtis signs along Swasey Drive, Placer Road, or anywhere else in the district, take note. This isn’t politics as usual. This is another example of liberals having to cheat to win — because they know they can’t win any other way.

Clint Curtis is running to protect election integrity. His opponents, it seems, are determined to prove exactly why that protection is needed. If this is happening in your district as well, let us know. Reach out to us at Contact@SHASTAUNFILTERED.COM
