An Open House was Held on November 9th to Showcase New Location of Pro-Life Clinic Offering Options with Compassion and Support for Parents Facing an Unplanned Pregnancy

NorthState Care Clinic Campaigning for Additional Funds to Remodel New Location

Redding, CA  - November 9, 2025

Kirsten Lapp, Executive Director of NorthState Care Clinic (NSCC), formerly the Care Net Pregnancy Center, welcomed the community to an open house on a beautiful Sunday afternoon at the new facility on Victor Ave. in Redding, which is right across the street from the Women’s Health Specialists, a clinic that offers abortion services.  NSCC was able to purchase the building, which had come up for sale in early 2025, with generous donations from the community through appeals that were sent through local churches.  The campaign was able to raise $740,000 in cash over an eight-month period, falling $260,000 short of their goal of $1 million which would cover needed remodeling and some operational funds.  The NSCC is planning to move from their Athens Avenue location in early 2026, where they are currently paying $40,000 per year in rent.  The goal is to be able to be mortgage-free in order to free up those dollars for providing more services to parents and expand their hours of operation.  The services that the clinic provides include free pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, advocacy appointments, parenting classes, baby supplies, and maternity and baby clothing.  Lapp stated that so far this year, 42 lives have been saved by the clinic and over 11,000 parents have been served through the years.

At this new location, the clinic will be more visible and accessible to women who are in crisis "offering them hope and support as an immediate option", as Lapp stated, “so women will have their voices heard throughout the whole process.”  One such young woman gave her testimonial about the amazing compassion that she felt was shown her by the advocate and staff at the clinic.  She was on her way to get an abortion when the advocate approached her, spoke with her, and then asked her to follow her to the clinic.  Being drug and alcohol addicted and not knowing how far along she was in the pregnancy, she took the lady up on her suggestion and was led to the ultrasound room.  She shortly learned she was five months pregnant with a beautiful baby girl, then she said ,“God intervened.”  She felt empowered that “I could do this.”  She realized she wanted to get off the drugs and she discovered her faith.  She emphasized how she had never felt such respect, dignity, and support in her whole life and that is what really made a difference.  Her beautiful daughter, now a toddler, was there with her at the open house.

Board Member Gordon Flynn spearheaded the fundraising campaign to purchase the clinic and he thanked everyone who has supported the effort through donations, prayers, volunteer work, and getting the word out to the community.  Anyone wishing to volunteer or help out with donations, etc. can contact Kirsten or Karen, the Client Services Director, at (530) 246-7075 for more information.
