Sheriff Johnson honored the many volunteers assisting his department Johnson spoke about the six chaplains who went out on 28 calls during the year, the Citizen Volunteer Patrol who assists in many areas including conducting proactive patrols, traffic control and meetings with business owners, the Explorer Program for youth 14 - 21 years old, the Reserve Unit who help on patrols, the Asphalt Cowboys organization who assist with special needs and fundraising.

The Shasta County Board of Supervisors convened its regular meeting on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at the County Administration Center in Redding, addressing a range of local issues from jail healthcare upgrades to community recognitions and ongoing county operations.

Public Health Officer Dr. James Mu presented a report on 2025 accomplishments and 2026 priorities, highlighting the county's ongoing physician shortage crisis. Recruitment efforts in 2025 yielded good results across local medical centers, however, smaller clinics and outlying clinics have lost physicians in 2025.  Retention of physicians remains a challenge.
