In a Truth Social post Tuesday morning, President Trump labeled California’s Proposition 50 vote “unconstitutional” and a “GIANT SCAM,” claiming the entire process—especially mail-in voting—was “RIGGED” and under “very serious legal and criminal review.”
During the afternoon briefing in the James S. Brady Press Briefing Room, Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt fielded a reporter’s question:
“What evidence does the president have that the vote is rigged? … What does it mean that mail-in ballots are under legal and criminal review? … Does the White House still plan to issue an executive order banning mail-in voting?”
Leavitt responded:
"The White House is working on an executive order to strengthen our elections in this country and to ensure there can not be blatant fraud as we have seen in California with their universal mail-in voting system. … It is just a fact. … we know it’s ripe for fraud. … I’m happy to provide you all of the evidence. … Fraudulent ballots [are] being mailed-in in the names of other people, in the names of illegal aliens. … There’s countless examples. … Any executive order the president signs is within his full executive authority and within the confines of the law.”
