Yes, PBS, (10-30-25) the Voter ID petition gatherers garnered enough valid signatures to place the Election Integrity measure on the ballot.
The First Amendment to the Constitution—the law of the land—includes the right to "petition the government for a redress* of grievances".
The citizens of Shasta County are aggrieved by the new laws put in place by the governor and legislature that are detrimental to free, fair and secure elections, in effect stifling our free choice of whom we want to have govern us. More than 65 new laws, so far, are designed to do just that.
The citizens of Shasta County being so aggrieved by the governor’s heavy-handedness in 2024, voted to make Shasta County a Charter County. Charter counties can pass their own laws and ordinances (with caveats) which can be done by the Board of Supervisors or by a lawful citizens’ petition.

We wouldn't be having all this trouble with the voting if our Founding Fathers had been as afraid of King George as our supervisors are of Governor Newsom and the State of California. There would be no voting.
