Gospel Moment

Imagine a young woman sitting alone in a quiet room, her hands trembling as she stares at a positive pregnancy test. Fear whispers that she’s not ready, that no one will understand, that her dreams are slipping away. In that moment of deepest vulnerability, God’s heart beats with a love so fierce it refuses to leave her alone.

That same tender love echoes through the words of Jesus in Matthew 25:35-40 (NIV):

“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.”

Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’

“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’”

These are not distant commands—they are Jesus’ own heartbeat. Every pregnant mom who feels unseen, every baby whose life hangs in the balance… when we reach out with open arms, we are literally wrapping our hands around the Lord Himself. This is the Gospel made flesh: love that shows up, love that stays, love that chooses life when the world offers only despair.

Living Out the Mission in Shasta County

Right here in our own backyard, that holy love is alive and breathing through NorthState Care Clinic in Redding, California. For more than forty years, this faith-filled pregnancy resource center has been a lighthouse for Shasta County and beyond. They walk into the hardest moments with gentle strength—offering free, confidential services that include verified pregnancy tests, limited OB ultrasounds through all trimesters, compassionate options counseling, parenting classes, baby supplies, diapers, and community referrals. They also provide thoughtful adoption counseling and warm referrals to trusted licensed agencies, ensuring every mother knows she has beautiful choices that honor both her heart and her child’s life.

Their mobile clinic rolls out to Red Bluff, Shasta Lake City, Weaverville, Burney, and every corner where a woman might feel forgotten. And now, the light is about to shine even brighter: NorthState Care Clinic will soon be opening a brand-new clinic directly across from an abortion services provider—right in the heart of where decisions are made every day. With a mission to “glorify God by valuing every life,” the team doesn’t just hand out information—they hold hands, wipe tears, pray with trembling hearts, and remind each mom that she is seen, she is loved, and she is never alone. They never perform or refer for abortions. Instead, they pour out practical hope so that fear gives way to courage and regret turns into rejoicing.

This is the Kingdom coming close—one ultrasound heartbeat at a time, one diaper bag packed with love, one adoption story written with tears of grace.

A Gospel Moment for You

Beloved friend, close your eyes for just a moment and hear Jesus whispering those words directly to your heart: “Whatever you did for one of the least of these, you did for Me.” Can you feel the weight and wonder of that promise? Every prayer you lift, every baby blanket you donate, every dollar you give, every encouraging word you speak—it all lands in the hands of the Savior who loves those precious mothers and their tiny children more than we can imagine.

This week, let that truth stir something deep inside you. Reach out to NorthState Care Clinic—whether you’re in Shasta County or miles away. Pray for the women walking through their doors right now. Give what you can. Volunteer your time. Share their story. Because when we stand with them, we are standing with Jesus Himself—especially as this new clinic opens its doors across the street from despair and floods that place with hope.

And one day, when we stand before the King, may our hearts overflow with joy as He smiles and says, “Well done, My good and faithful servant, you loved them, and in loving them, you loved Me.”
