Democrat-Controlled Clark County Commission Invites Satanic Temple Activist to Lead Invocation in Las Vegas

By Shasta Unfiltered Staff | May 21, 2026

In a move that has left many residents of Clark County shocked and disgusted, the Democrat-dominated Clark County Board of Commissioners opened its May 19, 2026, meeting with an “invocation” delivered by a horn-wearing representative of The Satanic Temple — an activist group known for its provocative anti-Christian stances.

The individual leading the invocation was Aron Ra, a prominent atheist activist and YouTuber associated with The Satanic Temple. Photos from the meeting show him standing at the podium wearing prominent devil-style horns on his head, delivering remarks under the banner of a group that uses Satanic imagery to push political agendas.

This is what “inclusion” looks like under one-party Democrat rule in Las Vegas.

Clark County’s Board of County Commissioners is overwhelmingly controlled by Democrats — six out of seven members. The body governs the greater Las Vegas area and wields enormous power over zoning, budgets, law enforcement, and public policy in Southern Nevada. Critics argue that this lopsided partisan control has enabled extreme cultural provocations that mock the values of the community’s majority.

The Satanic Temple describes itself as non-theistic and uses Satanic symbolism for activism, often targeting Christian traditions in public spaces. While they frame this as “religious pluralism,” many view it as deliberate mockery and an assault on America’s Judeo-Christian heritage — especially in a county where such invocations have historically featured pastors, priests, and rabbis.

This isn’t the first time The Satanic Temple has targeted government meetings in Nevada. Similar incidents have occurred elsewhere, often as part of a strategy to either force the removal of all invocations or highlight what they see as Christian “privilege.” But in a Democrat-controlled body like Clark County’s, it appears welcomed rather than resisted.

Residents and faith leaders have called the display “creepy,” “disrespectful,” and inappropriate for families and children present in the audience. One local who regularly participates in invocations described it as deeply disturbing.

The bigger picture: When one political party maintains near-total control — as Democrats do in Clark County — public institutions drift further from mainstream American values. “Sin City” already carries a certain reputation, but turning government meetings into platforms for Satanic Temple theater crosses a line for many Nevadans.

Clark County voters should take note ahead of future elections. This event is a symptom of unchecked partisan dominance, not genuine inclusivity.
