The Shasta County Supervisors are given a presentation from Assemblyman James Gallagher to adopt a resolution which supports Assembly Joint Resolution 23 (Gallagher) for the formation of a new state. With the passage of Prop 50, which further erodes Republican representation, Assemblyman James Gallagher argues that California should be divided into two states: one tailored to urban needs and another to conservative priorities. It passed with a 3:2 vote.
