ANDERSON, Calif. — A concerned parent in the Anderson Union High School District has formally complained to district leaders, calling for disciplinary action against a teacher who allegedly posted content on social media encouraging people to harass and obstruct U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers through vandalism, false information, and other disruptive tactics.

In an email sent last week to Superintendent Brian Parker, Principal Tom Safford, and the Board of Trustees, the parent detailed concerns over a post by Anthony Howard-Erevia, a teacher at Anderson High School (AUHS) and West Valley Early College High School. A student at AUHS confirmed the post originated from the teacher’s Instagram account (@mr_howard_goes_west) on April 2.
The post features a large printed sign headlined “YOU CAN FIGHT ICE BY ANNOYING THEM,” followed by a bulleted list of suggested actions:
Mess up their food/drink orders
Lose their tickets/reservations
Overtighten lug nuts, strip spark plugs
Give them incorrect but real-sounding information
Record them with your phones
Disrupt them with loud noises (car alarms, music, banging metal) and bright lights (flashlights, headlights)
Shame them
Handwritten additions on the sign read “F*** Yeah” next to “SHAME THEM,” “F*** them White supremacists,” and statements such as “THE FASCISTS WANT COMPLACENCY. DO NOT GIVE IT TO THEM” and “IT IS YOUR RIGHT TO MAKE ‘MISTAKES’.”

The parent described most of the posts as “concerning,” arguing that they encourage criminal acts, including obstruction of law enforcement, vandalism, and the provision of false information to law enforcement authorities. The complaint warned that such actions “can result in injuries or death to law enforcement, alleged violators of immigration law, and to bystanders.”
The parent expressed outrage that students were exposed to what they called “radical and un-American propaganda” by a public employee. The email stated the parent was “livid” that any child would be exposed to this kind of material by a teacher whose role is to educate, not indoctrinate.
The complaint referenced a similar recent case in the Pacheco Union School District in Redding, where a teacher was placed on administrative leave and later fired by the school board after making controversial social media comments following the September 2025 assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. In that incident, the teacher reportedly posted statements such as “You reap what you sow Mr. Kirk,” prompting widespread community backlash and swift district action.
The parent requested that the district initiate disciplinary proceedings against Howard-Erevia and asked to be notified when the issue is placed on the AUHSD board agenda so parents can attend. The parent also plans to file a formal complaint with the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing and may contact local media. The parent requested that the student’s identifying information be redacted from any public version of the complaint.
The Board of Trustees consists of Jaclyn Labarbera, Staci Adams, Joe Gibson, Omana Weeks, and Julia Rinauro. As of this reporting, the district has not issued a public statement or confirmed any investigation into the matter.
