Opening Timeline: Amazon and city officials have consistently projected the station will become operational sometime in 2026. The original 12-to-16-month construction window from the August 2025 groundbreaking suggests a target period of roughly August to December 2026. As of mid-March 2026, Shasta EDC reports the project is “making great progress” with no delays announced.

Hiring Plans and Job Creation The facility is expected to create more than 100 full-time and part-time positions, with some local estimates reaching up to 300 roles when including support jobs for delivery service partners (DSPs), fleet maintenance, and business-to-business contracts. Typical front-line roles will include warehouse associates, package handlers, sortation associates, and delivery drivers.
Hiring status: Leadership and management roles (such as Operations Manager) are already being recruited. Front-line warehouse and driver positions have not yet opened specifically for the new Redding station, but mass hiring is expected to ramp up 2–4 months before opening (likely summer or early fall 2026).

Expected Pay Ranges (Redding market, 2026 estimates). Pay will be hourly for most warehouse and delivery roles and will reflect the local cost of living:
Role | Hourly Rate (est.) | Annual (full-time equiv.) |
Warehouse Associate / Package Handler | $17–$20 | $36K–$42K |
Delivery Driver (DSP or station) | $18–$21 | $38K–$43K |
Operations Manager (salaried) | — | $43.6K–$82.5K (Redding posting) |
All hourly roles include standard Amazon benefits, including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), paid time off, and Anytime Pay.
City officials and Shasta EDC view the station as a key 2026 economic highlight for Redding, validating years of work to develop Stillwater Business Park into a ready-to-build industrial hub. Once open, the facility is expected to strengthen regional supply chains and provide flexible job opportunities in a historically rural economy.
