An online MAHA (Make America Healthy Again) Town Hall held Monday, April 20, 2026, brought together four candidates seeking to lead California out of its chronic disease crisis. Hosted by Jeff Dornick on the Pickax platform, the nearly 2-hr. event featured leading Republican contenders Steve Hilton and Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco, along with underdog candidates Leo Zacky (R) and Lewis Herms (No Party Pref.). U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to Prioritize Treatment and Work Over Permanent Housing – HUD Secretary Scott Turner stated on Fox Business program that the root problem of homelessness is mental illness and drug addiction/drug abuse. He wants to restore accountability to a system that has been a has been a slush fund for nonprofits around the country who were being rewarded for the more people they have in their system.
